The SS King Flasks are excellent and will stay hot for 24 hours if you warm up the flask before you pop the boiling water in it, and then seal it and don't open it again. In terms of real-time use, each time you open the stopper you'll decrease the time it stays hot, and if you don't pre-warm it, you won't get quite the same length of time.

As far as suggestions go that really depends on what you like eating and drinking mate! This particular model will be better suited to drinks. For food, you might want to look at something with a wider opening like the Thermos Stainless King 710ml Food Jar.
Does the Thermos Stainless King 1.2 litre come with a warranty? How long? Can you also please specify the diameter on the mouth area?
