Keep your food preparation off the ground and away from any mischievous wildlife with the Darche Traka 1200 table. The Traka is the perfect addition to your campsite kitchen as you’ll be able to slice, dice and julienne to your heart’s content even in the great outdoors.
This table has impact resistant edges, so you won’t have to stress about little heads coming into contact with sharp metal corners. Darche really
Just returned from using this table over a weekend camping trip and I found it to be absolutely awesome. Very sturdy and unlike the previous reviews I experienced no issues with heat from a Ziggy Brown type BBQ on it. Have to admit the black finish is definitely not a good idea as it scratched very easy, but hey, looks great for now.
I also have the oztent, which is equal to this in every way, except the black finish. The oztent has a more scratch resistant surface. Only reason I can’t give 5 stars.
I have no issues recommending it to anyone.
I had similar issues as previous reviewer with this table. I bought mine from a WA shop and it is currently being sent back to Darche. This easter's camping trip I confidently put a camping stove on it as the specs say it has a heat resistant top but in a few minutes the top buckled downwards and lost it's shape permanently. It looks like it has some plastic coating too (or maybe paint), that shrunk with the heat. The 'heat resistant top' claim is definitely false, at least on the latest batch of these tables. I was thinking that maybe I should replace the top with a piece of galv sheet, but it's too much trouble and am now looking for another sturdy table with a proper heat resistant top that can handle a stove.. You have the OZ Tent table which I'm interested in, with an aluminium top, but looks suspiciously similar to the Darche.
Thanks for sharing Steph, that's really helpful - not only for customers looking for a new table but for us too. Laine
Our kids bought us an expensive Darche Traka table as a gift because they knew we wanted a folding camping table that we could put our stove on. The Darche website claims that this table is "full alloy top - resilient to heat sources" so it fit the bill. However on our first use, the top just melted and warped, the paint crinkled like plastic when we put our little stove on it. The top is actually extremely thin, and also scratches easily every time you put something on it. This is not suitable for camping. I'm sad that our kids spent he little money they had on this rubbish product with misleading claims.
Thanks for posting your review Nikita! Although I'm sorry to hear that you've had some issues. I sent your review, word for word, to Darche. They were bamboozled that your table has warped - they assured me that the Traka Table has been used many times to support all sorts of stoves and bbq's, with no issues.
We're interested to know more so we can help out. If you've got a sec, could you please send us an email (email@example.com) with a few photos of the table and the little stove which was used? We'll jump onto it straight away. Laine
The table is easy to assemble and disassemble. Having two levels (normal and coffee table) is very useful. The first product sent had a number of scratches on the surface and sides. Snowys replaced it with utmost efficiency. With time in the field expect scratches to the paintwork, but because the top is aluminium, rust will not be a problem. It is moderate in weight. It is not something that I would like to carry more than about 200m to a camp site. Protect the aluminium top from direct heat from pots. The table is sturdy with minimal wobble when erected. Overall an excellent product, but should be treated with care to get the maximum longevity from it.
Really clever design and nice and light. The table is heat resistant, but not very...wrinkles from a hot pan bottom on the surface.
Very good investment, the construction I have seen in an outdoor portable table, stands up to the Darche name quality, you do get what you pay for. Don't compromise on quality if you are going to use the table frequently, also light to transport unlike other tables the same size.
Hi specs don't say what is the rated weight capacity of this table and was wondering how it compares in both stability, and weight holding with the OzTrailEasy 4 table. Wold you say this is more sturdy?
We can't get a weight rating on the Darche Traka Camp Table but looking at the two side by side on the shop floor, I would say that they're quite similar when it comes to sturdiness. The Darche has a steel frame though which should make it a little stronger over the years.
My previous plastic topped table melted and warped when using a camping stove on top of it. Could you rest a camping stove on this table? We use a liquid fuel hiking stove.
The Darche Traka Camp Table is constructed with a full alloy top which is resilient to heat sources.
Hi- just wondering if it does come with a separate carry bag to protect the table during transport in our trailer. Perhaps you can provide me with a little more info on this- thanks
This table does come with a handy carry bag which is a thick black nylon material so the whole table folds up and fits neatly into this square bag and can be carried with the top webbing carry handles. In regards to being transported in your trailer, as long as there are no sharp items or excessive rubbing, it should keep your table safe during transit.
How do you extend the legs as mentioned in the specs.
The "extendable legs" refers to the fact that the bottom half of each leg is removable so the table could be used at half height, more like a coffee table. I'm sorry, I think our description is a bit confusing here, I'll ask the team upstairs to re-word that on Monday.
