Are these classed as low or high flow
G'day Jeremy,
These are a regulated flow cooker. They come with their own regulated gas hose that controls the flow, so they need to be attached directly to a standard LPG gas bottle.
Forgot to ask. Do you have the matching gas hose for the Companion Frames Double Burner?
G'day Lyn,
The Companion 3/8" SAE to POL Low Pressure Gas Hose in the 900mm length is the perfect replacement hose!
Can you recommend a cast iron cooker plate to use with the Companion Framed Double Burner please?
What's the regulated gas supply pressure?
G'day Jay,
The Framed Double Burner uses a standard 2.75kPa regulator.
Re framed double burner.
G'day Ross,
The Companion Framed Double Burner will be affected by wind if using out in the elements, but a windshield should resolve any issues you may have.
Hi is there a wind shield that will work with this cooker. Across the back and each side. Thanks Chris
G'day Chris,
We do sell the Four Sided Windshield which is compatible with the Framed Double Burner.
Hi Would this work underneath a hotplate as a make-shift BBQ?
G'day Mick,
Yes, theoretically you could use the Frame Double Burner as a make-shift BBQ. The exact logistics of how you'd achieve this could be a little risky, so we probably wouldn't suggest it from a safety point of view.
Hi guys. What size of and/pans can be used together across the two burners before they are too big and effects one's cooking?
G'day TCS,
I've just had a trial of frypan pans on the Frame double Burner and you can comfortably fit two of the 24cm Campfire Compact Frypans on the stove top, you could at a real push fit a 28cm frypan on top, but I think they'll end up being too close and at risk of tipping a little.
Will this stove fit the Oztrail Compact Kitchen with the windscreen? What about the Oztrail Double Pantry Kitchen? The main shelf dimensions look touch and go - pls confirm!
G'day GR,
No worries mate, I've just tested it out and the Burner will sit comfortably on either kitchen, with windscreen or not :) It is worthwhile remembering though that these are camp kitchens and although they hold up well under the cast iron weight of the burner, I'm uncertain how they would go if using cast iron cookware as well as the burner. Those 2 together would result in a fairly heavy load being expected from the kitchen.
Does it come with a bag? What would be the depth of the stove when the legs are unscrewed? Does unscrewing the legs expose delicate burner parts? Just concerned about how best to transport this.
G'day GR,
The bag is a tricky one! Unfortunately, we don't stock one of suitable size to house the Companion Dbl Burner. You could maybe try the OZtrail Canvas Duffle Bag in Medium although the fit would a little off given the different shape
Is the gas feed connection on the side or back of the stove.
G'day Brian,
The Companion Framed Double Burner has the gas connector at the front to the right of the adjuster knob for the right burner.
What surface can this be used on? Does the surface under it heat up?
G'day Marjorie,
I've just had a chat with our resident amateur chef, Brock. He told me that you shouldn't have too many issues with using the Companion Framed Double Burner on most surfaces. He said that there'd be a small amount of heat heading downward, so if you popped a placemat or heat resistant mat underneath for some extra protection, then you should be fine on most surfaces.
Do you deliver to Portugal
G'day Kwelsh,
We only deliver to within Australia, sorry!
Does the depth measurement include the knobs at the front?
Hi Adele,
I've just double checked and updated these measurements on our product page, they changed slightly recently and the finish now has a smoother feel, it seems that the dimensions may have changed slightly also. The 'In Use Dimensions' now listed on our site are the outermost measurements of the burner including the knobs and legs.
On the gas burner can you take legs off for transport
G'day Colin,
With a Phillips-head screwdriver and a spanner, you'll have no issues taking the legs off the Companion Framed Double Burner for transport.
Just wondering what the screws are for that go into the left side of each burner near the front Cheers Kev
G’day Kev, I think what you’re referring to are the spindle controls which enable you to adjust the flame on each burner.
Can it be turned down very low in order to simmer meals?
Hi Lee, the Companion Framed Double Burner does have individual spindle controls so while you may be able to adjust the flame, you may find it hard to get it low enough to simmer. It’s not to say you definitely couldn’t do it – you just may run into some difficulty.
I am looking for cooking options for a tiny house. Can these be used indoors (18sqm space) with/without a window open for ventilation?
G’day Lee, the Companion Framed Double Burner is for Outdoor use only, and shouldn’t be used in an enclosed space. This is because without adequate ventilation there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. We would only recommend using this item in a very well ventilated area as per the instructions.
You mention the finish has changed, how has it changed?
Hi, is it possible to adjust the oxygen (air) input with a screw adjustment underneath the unit?
G'day Kevin,
I've had a look at our display model and there is no air input adjuster.
looks like this burner is a bit high from ground and does not have any wind protector around it. Can wind blow it from underneath cause disruption?
Would like to kow the max weight and also size of frypan please
