The Bugaboo Base Medium Camper Set is a reliable and great value cook set for family camping trips.

This set comes with a 2L pot with a strainer lid, a 3L pot with strainer lid, a frypan, a cutting board, and gripper that nest together for compactness. Each pot and frypan is made from Teflon coated aluminium, which makes them easy to cook on, and to wash as well. The folding gripper locks onto the exterior brackets on the pot or frypan to prevent scratches and to keep it secure in use. And, the cutting board has dished and flat sides for preparing different types of ingredients.

since it nests together, how does that go with scratching and hence warranty on the non stick surface

The Bugaboo Base Camp Cookset comes with a small cutting board that is designed to be put in the nest between the pots. As long as all items are put away clean and dry it shouldn't cause any problems.

Is there only one handle for the three items, also is the frypan the same size in both the medium and large set?

You're correct, there is only one handle for all three pots & pans. The frypans with each size kit are different sizes.

I've just quickly measured this for you and the Frypan on the GSI Outdoors Bugaboo Base Camp Med Cookset is about 205mm in diameter.

can you please advise whether these can be used on an open campfire. If not which set is best with detachable handles and are collapsible within each other

Hi Sarah,

I wouldn't recommend these be used over an open fire, they are designed primarily for use on a gas cooker. There are some small components, along with the Teflon coating that will not respond to high temperatures generated by a large open fire. For an open fire, stainless steel is a bombproof choice, albeit a little heavier.
