City Use1 answer
I am looking for poles to use as support for my knees while working and walking in the city. All hard terrain. Will these be suitable?
Kathy - Melbourne(5 years ago)
G'day Kathy,
You should be fine with any of our walking poles for city use, but I would highly recommend you grab some of the Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors. They'll soften the feeling when the pole strikes the ground and they'll eliminate the clacking noise the poles can make on concrete or pavement.

Will these poles be tall enough1 answer
Hi, I am on the taller side for women (171cm). Will these women's specific poles be tall enough for me or am I better off with the men's poles equivalent?
I am also trying to minimise weight, but the difference does not look significant.
Frances - Newcastle(6 years ago)
G'day Frances,
The Women's Trail Trekking Poles can be adjusted from 59 - 123 cm, so given that you're around 5"7 you shouldn't have an issue with them being too short, so we wouldn't say you would need to size up to the men's version.

Do these rattle or vibrate in use?1 answer
...not so much from loose parts but from transference of energy...
Reg - Gordon(6 years ago)
G'day Reg,
We've not ever heard of anyone having issues with vibrations or rattles with the Black Diamond Women's Trail Trekking Poles.

are these folding or insert into each other 1 answer
do these poles fold out into three or do they fold into each other for transporting?
Heather - Bega (6 years ago)
G'day Heather,
The 3 shafts of the Black Diamond Women's Trail Trekking Poles slide into each other. When extended, they are locked in place with Black Diamond's double Flick Lock™ mechanisms.

Height question1 answer
I am petite - approx 150cm. Would these poles be suitable for me? I need them for climbing Mt Fuji, Japan. Hope you can help. Thanks
Ange - Malvern East (7 years ago)
G'day Ange,
The minimum height for the Black Diamond Women's Trail Trekking Pole is 59cm. Hiking poles are typically fitted from the ground to your hand with your arm against your body and bent at a 90-degree right at the elbow. From what you've described, it sounds like these poles will fit you, no worries.

Is this price for a single pole or a pair?1 answer
Is this price for a single or pair?
Linda Robertson - Melbourne(7 years ago)
G'day Linda,
This pricing is for a pair, which generally helps increase your hiking efficiency - it's like having four legs instead of two!

Rubber tips1 answer
Hello I was wondering if this product comes with rubber tech tips and if not would you recommend them if walking on trails that vary from rocky hard surfaces to softer bush terrain? Cheers
Chelsea - EAGLEMONT, VIC(8 years ago)
G’day Chelsea, the Black Diamond Women’s Trail Trekking Pole doesn’t come with rubber tips. This pole has a carbide tip which will work really well on any surface as it has a diamond like hardness – so you won’t slip no matter what terrain you’re on. Generally carbide tips are the standard as they have exceptional durability. Rubber tips will protect the gear in your pack and can be good for when you’re walking on delicate ground that needs to be preserved. It really comes down to personal preference, but carbide tips are probably more versatile.
