I can't think of any reason why you couldn't use this for a fire, Andrea. It is sheet metal so if you subject it to too much heat I guess there is the potential for it to warp but given you don't put a windshield in the fire I can't see this being a problem.

Can you tell me the inside measurement if the shroud is around a stove? Basically the total width of the two internal panels straight as shown in the picture

The 2 internal panels measured together are 465mm. Each panel measured separately is 230mm - not including the hinges :)
