can this bbq be connected to a 9kg gas bottle, perhaps using a regulator?3 answers

G’day Roger, you’re right on the money - the Companion Takeaway BBQ can be used with a 9kg gas bottle with a POL fitting if you use an adaptor. The Gas cylinder adapter POL - 3/8" BSP LH Right Angle from Gasmate (Snowys code: 20609) will do the trick nicely.

Hi Again,
Thanks for your prompt reply,I’ve been away for a few days hence my slow reply!
Does the hose that comes with the Companion Takeaway have a regulator already or will I have to get one of those too?
I’m getting mixed up between an adaptor and a regulator.

No worries Roger, you’re very welcome! As for the regulator on the Companion Takeaway BBQ - the hose itself (which comes with the product) regulates the supply, so you don’t need to purchase a regulator. On the other hand, an adaptor changes the fitting to allow you to use different sized gas bottles with your appliance. It can be easy to get the terms mixed up, so I hope this has helped.
