Campfire vacuum sealer bags1 answer

Hello, I recently purchased these bags from you and was wondering if it is possible to pour boiling water directly into the bags to reconstitute dehydrated meals.

G'day Rachael,

Technically you should use a sous-vide bag if you want to put boiling water in them. Campfire doesn't specifically specify you can do this, but having chatted to some others it may be ok, there are just no guarantees. They do indicate they are microwave-safe, so theoretically pretty heat-tolerant. It might be worth trying one at home, and seeing what you think it terms of the impact the heat has on the plastic.

Good question Emily, I had to go and check this to make sure and they are indeed BPA free. It's clearly stamped on the front of the packaging.
