Not for indoor use

Just be aware that this heater cannot be used in a caravan due to carbon monoxide build up. I wasn't aware of this when I purchased it as it wasn't in the product description. Unfortunately I can't use the heater now.

Response from Snowys Jul 24 2016

Thanks for raising this Mark, a very important message. You're right, gas heaters are not to be used in a tent, caravan, campervan - any enclosed space. They're perfect for any open sided awnings, gazebos and of course any outdoor space. I hope this helps, Laine

G'day Judi - Use of gas heaters in any sort of closed or semi-enclosed space is always at the user's discretion. If you feel the air is being refreshed at a rate much higher than that of carbon monoxide being produced, you may choose to use it in your space. But always err on the side of caution. Did you see our recent blog, "Can You Use a Gas Heater in a Tent?" If not, click on the 'Read the Snowys blog here' link at the top right of this page, it'll be the latest post. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

can i use this product inside rv motor home or caravan1 answers

- MARKS POINT, NSW(9 months ago)
G'day Troy - Nooooo! These heaters are designed for use in spaces that have top notch ventilation, such as an awning, under a gazebo, or out in the open. Use one of these in an enclosed space, and you're putting your life at risk. Sorry to come across so sombre, I just want to drive the point home. Only use a suitable electric heater in your RV or caravan, or invest in a great quilt or sleeping bag. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Use with a bayonet fitting 1 answers

We have a outside patio with a gas bayonet fitted, are we able to run this heater off this fitting and because we have a regulator at our meter would we need another one fitted at the heater ? Thanks Graeme

Is your fitting for Natural Gas Graham? If so then this will not work, even if you do use the correct fittings. I'm no expert on it but I do know that LP Gas (which this heater operates from) and Natural Gas operate at different pressures, LP gas appliances therefore need converting in order to work on Natural Gas. I'm not sure what is required for this conversion, I recommend checking out the Elgas website (, you may find the answers you need here, or contact details for someone who can help you. If your gas supply is LP Gas, then only one 2.75kpa regulator is required and you would need to purchase a separate hose.
