The Nomad 2P is a lightweight tent for the solo hiker who likes the extra room, or the adventurous duo on your weekends away.

A vestibule on each side allows you to stash your gear outside of your sleeping area, while the two generously sized doors make it easy to get in and out – especially for two people. This tent is designed to pack up small, so it has shorter section pole lengths so that you can fit it into your pack for easy transport.

The interior is made from No-See-Um mesh which provides lots of ventilation and will also keep insect out of your space. You’ll be protected from the elements in this tent as the polyester fly has a coating to protect from UV rays and from the rain. The tub style floor and heat-taped seams also work together to prevent water from leaking into your dry shelter.

And you can keep your phone, keys or headtorch out of the way in the internal pockets in this tent. For overnight or short trips, the OZtrail Nomad 2P is a simple and lightweight choice.

  • Two large doors
  • Two vestibules
  • No-see-um mesh inner
  • Waterproof UV protection treated fly
  • Shorter pole section lengths for a more minimal pack size
  • Internal storage pocket
  • Tub style floor

Perfect for motorcycle trips

Bought it for a motorcycle trip. Folds very compact; easy to pitch; hold well with moderate winds. Still have to test its waterproof capability. Very happy so far. Great price too.

Perfect!

This thing withstood some pretty crazy weather in tassie and i used it everyday for 3 weeks. Perfect size for 1 bloke and hiking bag, the side cover is an awesome spot to place your boots out of the elements without having them inside your tent.

Perfect for what I need

I bought this tent for overnight hiking to be carried in my hiking pack on both solo and accompanied trips. Its super light weight and perfect for 1 person plus some gear inside the tent itself. 2 people makes it cosier, but still enough room for some items to sit at your head as the tent is plenty long enough.

Very happy with my purchase and a much more affordable hiking tent than the ones i was considering buying at $300+

Good choice

Bought for our 19yo son who is 6’5” and wanted a lightweight hiking tent. He is very happy with it, used it in the rain, everything stayed dry, and he fits (being so tall). Excellent price.

Will a stretcher fit?1 answer

Hi Would a Zempire Speedy Stretcher Bed fit inside this tent? Thanks

- Sunbury(5 days ago)

G'day Kate,

The Nomad 2 is Hike tent so it's not really designed to be high enough to fit a Zempire Speedy Stretcher Bed. If you're wanting to sleep on a stretcher you probably need to look at a larger 3-4 person dome tent.

Will this tent be able to stand on it's own without having to get pegged?1 answer

Will this tent be able to stand on it's own without having to get pegged?

- yallambie(3 months ago)

G'day Arik,

Unfortunately the Oztrail Nomad Hike Tent is not freestanding, so you will need to use pegs to get it standing upright.

Can it fit...1 answer

I'm hoping you may have one of these set up and can tell me if this tent will fit one regular and one large Sea to Summit Ultralight Sleeping Mat side by side?

- Perth(4 months ago)

G'day Jemma,

I reckon you'll just be able to squeeze a regular and large Sea to Summit Ultralight Sleeping Mat into the Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tent but would suggest that you'd be right up shoulder to shoulder with each other and the walls.

will it fit an Exped mega mat 101 answer

Could you tell me whether the exped megamat 10 will fit in this foot print. It's is an odd shape and hard to judge L197 x w77 x h 10cm

- Melbourne(4 months ago)

G'day Bruce,

Your Exped Megamat 10 LXW will fit inside the Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tent but like you said, the odd shape does mean that you lose a bit of room and it goes virtually right to the edges, so just make sure you peg your tent out nice and taut.

Mattress size 1 answer

Hi, would a double oz trail leisure mat wit in this? Thanks

- 6172(5 months ago)

G'day Lisa,

The Oztrail Leisure Mat double won't fit in the Oztrail Nomad 2 due to the shape of the footprint of the tent. The Nomad 2 is a hiking tent so is best suited to fit 2 single hiking mats inside it that will taper toward the foot end.

How fast to set up? 1 answer

Hi, I'm looking for a tent for my son to use when he goes on brigade camps. How long does this take to set up? And is it suitable as a year round tent in Southeast Qld?

- Brisbane (6 months ago)

G'day Kim,

It should take 10-15 minutes to set up the Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tent, and yes tt is suitable year-round in Southeast Qld.

no hydrostatic ratings1 answer

Hello, I am a first time tent buy and was considering this tent but am concerned about the lack of hydrostatic rating, is this really important? The product is advertised as waterproof and I imagine the hydrostatic rating would be worse than the more expensive tents that advertise their rating but how important is this. Would this tent still keep you dry in a heavy storm provided water isn't pooling around the site? Perhaps I should just pay double and get the companion hiker 2 that everyone seems to love but is it really twice the tent

- granville(7 months ago)

G'day Frank,

It might sound a little bit cliché but like most things, with tents, you get what you pay for. The Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tent is a great value tent for the price. The lack of a Waterhead rating doesn't mean that it doesn't have one, just that it's never been tested. Going for a tent with a Waterhead rating will give you some peace of mind about the sort of protection you'll get from rain. We've written a great blog in this that might be helpful to you picking a tent. You can read that blog here

can I fit a darche 900 self inflating mat 1 answer

As I cannot tell from the odd shape of the base ,could you advise can I fit a darche 900 in this tent

- carrum downs(8 months ago)

G'day Shannon,

If you place your Darche 900 Mattress at the top end of the tent, almost touching the wall, then it will fit into the Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tent with a good few inches spare at the foot end.

- Snowys(8 months ago)

What are the external dimensions of this tent?1 answer

I’m trying to gauge vestibule space in comparison to others? Also wondering about waterhead ratings, again for comparison purposes. Regards.

- Geelong (9 months ago)

G'day Jo,

I've just had a quick look at one of the Oztrail Nomad 2 Hike Tents we've got in store. The outer dimensions are 135 x 250 cm. As for the Waterhead rating, these tents have never been formally tested to give a figure to this rating but Oztrail do guarantee that it's 100% waterproof, so if you have any issues, we can take it up with them for you!

Size1 answer

This this tent more suited to one person or would two people be comfortable sleeping in it?

- Melbourne (10 months ago)

G'day Stephanie,

As with all hiking tents, the person capacity is tight because every cm of space is used to conserve weight, but it is possible to fit two. It just depends on how cosy and snug you'd like to be.
