Does this light have a travel lock so it can’t be accidentally turned on whilst packed in a bag?
G'day Tim,
This doesn't have a travel lock, just the button to change light modes.
Are the batteries removable?
G'day Thomas,
No, this unit does not use removable batteries - it has an integrated rechargeable battery.
Hope that helps!
Hi, will the hook fit on a standard 19mm tent spreader bar? Thanks
G'day Naomi,
We've given this one a try in-store & can confirm you'll definitely be able to hang your megadome off a Spreader bar!
Can it be charged from a 12V battery?
G'day Richard,
Yes, it can be charged from a 12V battery if there is a USB outlet on the battery.
Can you turn it on while it is charging? If not, do you know of any lights that can be used like this?
G'day Clare,
Yes, you can absolutely run the Zempire Megadome whilst it's charging.
Can the cord be shortened for lower-ceilinged tents?
G'day Clare,
The cord isn't adjustable or able to be shortened, but you could possibly loop it over itself to reduce the length by a few centimetres.
What is the ipx rating?
G'day Brian,
I've checked in with Zempire on this info. They said these are currently being independently tested & should have an official rating by the end of this year, but at this stage it's estimated they're IPX-4.
Essentially in real life this covers general outdoor use such as morning dew or light rain/splashing, but will need to be brought down proper rain, and definitely not submerged.
Hope that helps.
I wondered if anyone knows how long the battery is supposed to last, at full charge, before being turned on. Mine last probably a few days and it’s dead and needs a full re-charge. Seems a very shirt amount of time. Wondering if I have a faulty unit?
G'day Ian,
I have this light and it gets used every night for about an hours and seems to last at least a few weeks in between charges. It sounds like you have a faulty light and would encourage you to complete an online warranty form through the help centre on our website.
I’d like to know if it’s waterproof too.
G'day Juliann,
The Hangdome measures 23cm from the base of the string to the top of the hook. From what I can tell this isn't completely waterproof or weatherproof.
