Great if you want a sore back!

My wife and I brought two of these chairs for a recent 3 day trip based on the reviews given on this site. Initially they were comfortable however after a couple of hours we found them to be extremely uncomfortable, an awkward mix of laid back and upright. After the three days we both had extremely sore lower backs and couldn't bare to sit on them. We got rid of them as soon as we got home and will be buying some new chairs before our next trip. I would give these a miss.

Hey Matt! We're sorry to hear you found these chairs uncomfortable - nothing worse when you're sitting around the camp fire. This comes as a bit of a surprise though - the Oztent chairs have been known for their plush comfort (& durability). If it helps, you can adjust the lumbar support straps around your lower back. This will give you the flexibility to have the chair upright or laid back. I hope you give them another crack, they're fantastic chairs.

Goanna chair by Oztent

I do a lot of trips to some very remote spots in the big back yard and when I plant my bum down by the fire at the end of the day I want a chair that welcomes my bones. I have owned a lot of camp chairs that don't hold up to the outback! The Goanna is made tough and once worn in is dam comfy .Made to last and light to carry.Chain it down or I think it would walk.Quality product. Tough as old boots

Great chairs!

These are the most comfortable camping chairs we've the lumbar support strap and the clever use of storing the bag to make a head cushion. Very impressed with every purchase we've made from Snowy's. The products are good and the service is excellent....thank you :)

King of camping chairs

This is definitely the 'King' of camping chairs - very comfortable, lumbar support means you can sit in it for hours. The high back means you have protection from sun/wind coming from behind, and you can stargaze for hours without getting a sore neck. Love it!

You can't go past this chair, it is so comfortable. The adjustable lumbar support stops you from getting that all too familiar camping back pain. I sit in mine all the time, even around the house!

Head rest question1 answers

Hi, Could you please let me know if the head rest has padding without putting the carry bag in it? Thanks Darlene , Vic

- TRARALGON, VIC(3 months ago)

Hi Darlene, the King Goanna chair does indeed have padding without the carry bag - there’s a layer of foam approx. 1cm thick sewn into the back of the headrest.

Another size question1 answers

Hi. Could you please measure the exact size when packed it its bag? Thanks

- MELBOURNE, VIC(9 months ago)
I can't give you a measurement down to the cm exactly sorry Bob, it can be squashed down a little more but springs back, so it really depends on how much you want to wrestle it into the storage space. The packed dimensions (100 x 20 x 18 cm) on our website are the dimensions of the carry bag it fits comfortably into, so I would use these as the best guide.

More info on height1 answers

Hi, Is the 105cm height to the top of the headrest, or is it to the top of the metal frame either side of the back of the chair? I have limited packing space. If it is to the top of the headrest, would you please measure to the top of the frame for me when the chair is folded down? Thanks.

- , (9 months ago)
No problems Bob. Height to the top of the frame when folded is 95 cm give or take a cm and the headrest can be squashed down into this packed length.
- Snowys(9 months ago)
