G'day Ann,

The Privacy screen springs would be more than adequate for the RV Fly.
The Soft Springs are better for more heavy duty applications like the main tent.

Is this the item you use on the barrel of the caravan awning to help prevent the wind destroying the awning

Yes, you can use these on the barrel of the caravan awning to help secure it by attaching a guy rope to the soft spring and then peg it into the ground. I think it shows this on the second to last photos on the product page.
