Super easy and light

This tent is super easy to put up and take down, but its real selling point is how light it is. Lighter than a small camping chair, we strap this to our back and ride to the beach, on our bikes. I just wish that it had doors on all sides, so that we could manage the airflow better and provide privacy for changing etc. My last one collapsed in the wind and twisted beyond repair, even with heavy sand in bottom pockets but I'm buying another as it great value.

Wind is the biggest issue with these shelters, Mel, we recommend adding a few guy ropes to the folding knuckles on each pole to prevent them from collapsing in a strong wind. Something like the 4pk COI guy ropes are a cheap fix, with a few sand pegs to keep them in place, check out the guy ropes here, and we have sand pegs here. ~ Ben

Great beach shelter

Really easy to assemble and take down, surprisingly large and spacious but light and easy to carry. Also, super friendly customer service and speedy delivery. Thanks!

Caribee

Good for sun shelter. Fails in wind - not strong enough so just sways and collapses.

G'day Anthony,

You're right - when the wind really picks up, it can struggle a bit. However, if you tie each corner knuckle down with guy ropes (to some serious sand pegs), along with throwing sand into the outside pockets - it performs quite well in windy conditions. I hope this helps, Laine :)

Durable, Effective

Very happy with this product after 18 months of use. Very effective in providing shade and mighty easy to put up and down. The storage sock is not quite as durable and mine has some minor tears along the seam. Overall, a very good product which is worth the money.

Great family shelter

A great shelter for sun protection while still being able to enjoy the beach. The silver lining on the interior worked well in blocking the burning sun. Lots of interior room for sitting. Easy to pull out when assembling and easy to fold up. Used sand to anchor the outside side pockets and had no problems with a light wind. Great to be able to angle the tent so a young child could play on the beach in the shade. Tent was delivered promptly within a few days of ordering.

Great shelter

The shelter is great, easy to put up (even though I am short I still managed on my own) and easy to take down again and best of all it fits back in the bag!!It is nice and roomy and we got the guy ropes in case of it being windy (which it was) It is also stays nice and cool in the shelter even when really hot at the beach. I would highly recommend this. We used it for 10 days at Tuross Head.

Internal Pocket1 answer

Is their an internal pocket where you can store a phone and a small speaker like a Beats Pill for music?

- Adelaide(9 months ago)

G'day Pat!

As these are out of stock at the moment I can't go and physically check one out, but I know that there is at least one small internal pocket that should fit your phone and speaker. There might even be two pockets, but don't hold me to that!

How many people can roughly fit inside comfortably?1 answer

Will this provide covering for more than 4 people?

- Parramatta(12 months ago)

G'day Adz,

The Caribee Guardian UV Beach Shelter doesn't havbe a recommend capacity so I can't give you a hard and fast answer.

This shelter is 1.9L x 1.9W x 1.4H so you could probably get 4 people inside it, but anything over that would most likely be uncomfortable.

Can you purchase a attachments for the front, like an awning?2 answers

We love our caribee sunshade, but when we go to the beach in the morning, the sun comes in. We love to have the door facing the beach so we can look out at the ocean, but it's full of sun. If there were an additional awning you could snap on with poles that would block the sun coming in, but keep the door open to allowing the breeze that would be spectacular! If one doesn't exist, would you let the manufacturer know of our suggestion.

- BRISBANE CITY, QLD(1 year ago)
There are no add-on accessories for this sorry Lisa, I'll mention it to our Caribee representative but given we've not had any other similar enquiries I can't see it hitting the shelves anytime soon. The best I can recommend is setting up a second shelter such as the Moana in front of your Caribee Guardian, but this would mean carrying more gear to the beach. Sorry we couldn't help with this.
- Snowys(1 year ago)

I'm agree with Lisa. Would love to have a front awning on the shelter.

Which colour would be cooler and provide more blockout from the sun or are they all much of a muchness?1 answer

- PERTH, WA(1 year ago)
Hi Melissa, these are all UPF50+ rated, so will offer the same sun protection regardless of the colour. In terms of how cool they will be, I don't think you will notice a lot of difference between them in terms of temperature, the fabric has a silver backing which does not let much light through.

How does rear wall work. Watched video but couldn't work out zippered rear wall.1 answer

Want a tent that can have three walls

- BENDIGO, VIC(1 year ago)
The rear wall is attached along the bottom edge Elaine, and a zipper runs around the top to secure it. You can see the wall lying undone at the front of the shelter about half way through the video.

Is it waterproof? What is the height?1 answer

- WA(1 year ago)
Hi Dagne, the fabric has a 2000mm waterhead rating. It will be fine in a light shower, but the structure itself is not designed to keep you dry. As for the height, you are looking at 1.4m at the peak.
- Snowys(1 year ago)

What are the dimensions of the package and its weight?1 answer

Is this product waterproof?

- WA(1 year ago)
Hi Dagne, I have updated these details on our website. Weight is 2.8kg, packed dimensions are 107L x 13W x 13H cm. The fabric is waterproof but won't provide much shelter in the rain given it cannot be fully enclosed.

What are these like in the wind1 answer

How well do these shelters perform when the wind picks up?

- Snowys(3 years ago)
While the quick pitch frame of the UV Guardian is easy to set up, they have some limitations in high winds with the corner knuckles collpasing into their packed position. This can be easily overcome with the addition of the 4pk guy ropes listed in the product description for the UV Guardian added to each corner.
