Got yourself a Coleman Instant-Up Tent? Then give it some extra protection and save its bottom from tears with a Gound Mesh Footprint by Coleman.
Specifically designed to fit the footprint of Coleman Instant-Up tents, choose the size that's right for you. Engineered from Ultra-Mesh, this footprint is tight enough to create decent ground protection, but breathable so dirt and sand fall through. There are also patches of 420D PVC for added strength, and brass eyelets for pegging down so you can rely on your footprint to do its job and stay in place!
Don't risk snagging the base of your Instant-Up - use the Coleman Ground Mesh Footprint from Coleman and save yourself the grief of a dodgy patch-up job, or shelling out cash on a new tent.
Designed specifically for Coleman Instant-Up tents
Sand and dirt falls through
Caravan Park friendly
Ultra-Mesh breathable fabric
420D PVC patches with brass eyelets for pegging down
Pegs included
Sized to specifically match each Instant-Up tent footprint
Will the peg eyelets fit hex pegs? And are the peg holes supposed to be shared with the tent or does it need separate pegs? (Will be used with Coleman 4P Northstar)
John - Adelaide, SA (5 months ago)
G'day John,
The peg holes on the groundsheet will largely line up with the tent, assuming you're using the compatible mesh for the tent you've got. The eyelets on the mesh are the same size as the tent, which are 7mm in diameter. Hex pegs unfortunately wont fit, they're an 8mm shaft - 10mm total diameter including the thread.

Condensation impact1 answer
Will this ground sheet reduce the amount of condensation that our instant up tent floor collects? We love our tent but the thick canvas bottom takes an age to dry off
Mary - Melbourne, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Mary,
A mesh ground sheet can increase abit of airflow & circulation under the tent, which may help. There's no real way to measure how much of a difference it will make, as there are so many variables. There are loads of other benefits to the mesh ground sheets, so they'll be an advantage, but the wet flooring may just be the nature of your particular tent.

Compatibility with BlackWolf 240 X-Lite LF1 answer
Hi Team, will this ground sheet suit the BlackWolf 240 X-Lite LF? I can see that it won’t cover the full vestibule, but wonder if it might be a good option for full tent cover and partial vestibule cover. Is there a better option that you would recommend? Thanks!
Brooke - Ocean Grove, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Brooke,
Either this or an Ultramesh Tarp would be a good way to go. If you go the latter you can choose from a broader range of sizes which will give you good coverage of any extra areas like the vestibule. Whichever size you go with would depend on how much area you'd want covered. If you need to peg through it you can, and just make sure you set it up the same way and peg through the same holes each time. Often people will also put eyelets in to protect additional holes.

groundsheet for Coleman Instant Swagger 3P1 answer
What's the good size on this groundsheet for Coleman Instant Swagger 3P?
Paul - Brunswick, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Paul,
The Swagger isnt considered part of the Instant Up family tent range, so there isn't a specific ground sheet made for this tent. The floor size is 240 x 210cm so you'll need a mesh ground sheet as close to that as possible. Out of our range, the closest we sell is the 2.4 x 2.4 m Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp.

moisture protection1 answer
does this do anything for moisture protection? its obviously not going to do the same as a tarp but
nate - central coast(3 years ago)
G'day Nate,
No, the Ground Mesh Footprints won't provide moisture protection, as they've been designed to protect the tent floor while allowing any water to seep through into the ground, and prevent water pooling between the tent floor and tarp layer.

Smudged & Muddy1 answer
Hi, i would like to know if bring to smudged or a bit of muddy field campsite, when we are in the tent for sure there will be pressure on it, it allow mud to pass through and will make under the tent cover with soil isn’t?
Shah - Granville, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Shah,
Yes, the groundsheet is a mesh material to allow water and air to circulate so that it doesnt kill plants or other organic matter under the tent. Its primary function is to protect the tent floor from stick/rock, other sharp things which may cause damage, but being permeable it may allow for very wet mud to move through. Ultimately if your are set up camping it a wet environment, make sure to dry your tent our fully at home before packing it away properly between trips.

Older versions1 answer
Will the ground mesh footprints fit under older versions of the Coleman instant up Northstar 10p (3 rooms)? We have a version before the black out and lighting.
Cara - The Gap, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Cara,
I've checked in with Coleman on this one, they've advised that the footprints for the most part haven't changed. It's mostly just amendments to the fly that's changed through upgrades. If you have any concerns though, just triple check the measurement of you tent with the measurements of the footprint, but I'd say you'll be ok!

Coleman floor mat 1 answer
Would there be any benefit to getting a 6p ground sheet for a 4p tent or not really
Mick - Perth, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Mick,
You could get the 6P groundsheet for the 4P tent, however it's going to be too big, which will mean you end up with peg point holes through the mesh material over time. We'd recommend sticking with the customised size for the 4P tent, as it will be the best fit.

OzTrail Fast Frame 6P1 answer
Hi! Considering purchasing the OzTrail Fast Frame 6P tent - is it close enough in size that the 6P Coleman ground mesh would work?
Louise - Treeby, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Louise,
Yes, the Coleman Ground Mesh is a good option to pair with the Oztrail tents. They won't be an exact fit, but they're the closest fit option we've got.

old instant up1 answer
Hi, I have a gold darkroom instant 6p which I bought a couple of years ago before the Evo series came out. Are they still the same dimensions, i.e. will the ground sheet fit perfectly with my older version?
Siobhan - Brisbane City, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Siobhan,
Essentially the footprint and framework of the Coleman Instant Up series hasn't changed. If you have an Instant Up 6P tent the footprint will fit. The only consideration with the Darkroom and Northstar Series is the larger vestibule space, which won't be fully covered by the ground mesh. Have a look at the product photos online to see how the ground mesh will fit with the tent inner.

Cleaning it 1 answer
Just got back after camping and my Coleman Mesh is very muddy after torrential rain and wind. How can I clean it? Can I put it in washing machine? PS I did stay warm and dry in my amazing instant up tent - Gold Series. And it survived the howling winds. Gr
Janelle - Sale, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Janelle,
Glad to hear you stayed warm and dry in the howling winds! In terms of cleaning your Mesh Footprint, we'd recommend hanging it over the washing line, or a fence and giving it a good wash with the garden hose using a sprayer handle. We wouldn't recommend trying to wash it in your washing machine, as it might damage the mesh, and/or the washing machine.

10P(4.25 X 3.00M) of Mat Size will fit Coleman 8P?1 answer
I have a Coleman 8p which has side access and awning. Can I use 10P Mat instead of an 8P Mat to cover the awning side?
Gerald - Silverwater, NSW(4 years ago)
G'day Gerald,
Yes, that should be fine, you may just end up with some peg holes through the groundsheet, so be sure to line them up each time you set up.

Compatibility with the Coleman Northstar range?1 answer
Hi, Does this fit 4p, 6p, or 8p Northstar tent fit the mesh footprint? If not, what would you recommend?
Jade - Dunlop, ACT(4 years ago)
G'day Jade,
At this point in time Coleman aren't making specific footprints for the Northstar range, but the 4P, 6P and 8P models will fit these tents, they'll just stop a tiny bit short of the end of the front vestibule on the 4P and 6P Northstar models.

Compatibility with Oztrail 10p fast frame lumos1 answer
Hi, these look great. Do you know if the 10p one is compatible with the Oztrail fast frame lumos 10P, which is the tent we have?
Cathy - Pennant Hills(4 years ago)
G'day Cathy,
The 10P Northstar Tent is almost the exact same size as the Lumos 10P, so we'd recommend the 10P Northstar size footprint.

Comparison with oztrail ultramesh1 answer
I have a 10p northstar dark room and am wanting to know if there is a significant difference between this ground sheet versus the Oztrail Ultramesh other than the sizing- perfect fit vs almost perfect fit. They look identical. Other than being on a long back order time frame, this one is also more expensive. Not sure if it is better / worthwhile. They look the same in the videos.
Caroline - Orange(4 years ago)
G'day Caroline,
The Mesh Footprints are fairly similar to the Ultramesh Tarps, with the Coleman mesh appearing to have a slightly tighter weave when they're next to each other. They are cut to the exact size for the tent which is handy, however, we've sold the Ultramesh Tarps with these tents for a number of years, and they're also great.

10 p darkroom / chalet 9cv compatibility 1 answer
Does the 10 p darkroom ground also fit the coleman chalet 9cv?
Alwyna - Chatswood(4 years ago)
G'day Alwyna,
Yes the Darkroom 10P Footprint will work with the Chalet 9CV, there will just be approx 30cm of extra width you'll need to consider.
