Staff tip:To get the best fit, factor in the layers of clothing you may wear underneath your gaiters.
Is the listed weight (205g) does that refer to one single gaiter or for the pair?
John - Byangum, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day John,
We haven't actually weighed these ourselves, sorry, but Sea to Summit indicates this is the total weight of the pair. Hope that helps!

Sizes1 answer
Just wondering what the difference in sizes are between small/medium and large/xlarge? Cheers
Eliza - Essendon(6 years ago)
G'day Eliza,
The Small/Medium is 39cm high and the Large/X Large is 42cm high. On the packaging, it indicates that the Small/Medium is for European 37-42, and the Large/X Large is 41-47.

Is this material breathable or at least doesn't get too hot to wear during summer?1 answer
I'm going to do the Southcoast track this summer. I like that it is light and budget-friendly, but would like to know if it is comfortable to wear in long walks during the summer months when it can get hot.
Olivia - North Sydney(7 years ago)
G'day Olivia,
The Sea to Summit Grasshopper Gaiters are probably the most breathable out of the entire range due to the light/thin 600D Polyester Fabric, however, I would still assume that you will find them quite warm to wear through summer months. I'm not sure what solution you could look at however to get the best of the situation.

Snake proof1 answer
Do these offer protection from snake bite.
Sharon - Taree(7 years ago)
G'day Sharon,
Sea to Summit offer a large range of gaiters including the Grasshopper Gaiters, which will help prevent a bite, but can never offer 100% protection against snake bites.
If you're concerned, the most densely woven, puncture resistant gaiter currently made by Sea to Summit is the Quagmire Canvas Gaiter. The Quagmire provides at least 39cm coverage up your leg delivering peace of mind no matter where you are bushwalking.

Are they waterproof?1 answer
Will they resist water walking through shallow stream?
Ruth - Gerringong(8 years ago)
G'day Ruth,
In general most gaiters are mainly to protect you from debris, rough terrain and snakes - so they're not made to be 100% waterproof.Â
The Sea to Summit Grasshopper Gaiters are made from 600D Polyester, so they should theoretically repel water to some degree.Â
If you make sure that your gaiters are put on tightly, and you're wearing waterproof shoes then that will minimise the risk of water coming through but it won't prevent it entirely.
