If you’re a serious hiker that’s on the hunt for a day pack that’ll also give you enough space for an overnight trip, the Deuter Pro 36 pack is a solid vessel to carry all your gear.

This clean European design uses the air contact system which consists of a mesh panel that separates your body from the pack to provide a lot of airflow when you’re on the trail. The round steel spring frame will provide flexibility and help to distribute the weight of your load to your hips. With a flexible hip belt, you’re pack won’t limit or weight you down when you’re on the trail.

The hip belt also has two zip pockets, and stretch pockets on either side of the pack to keep gear that you want quick access to. With a top access point you can keep the majority of your gear there, and there is a lower access point which has a zipper to allow you to use the full length or as two separate compartments. The hood contains a valuables pocket, and has gear loops to strap anything that doesn’t fit inside your pack, or that you want quick access to.

As an added bonus this pack has a detachable rain cover which you can pull out if the weather turns sour. For an adaptable day pack that delivers on functionality and design, the Deuter Futura Pro 36 is the perfect option.

Can you carry this pack on board a plane? 1 answer

Not sure if the height of this pack is ok to carry on the plane.

G'day Helena,

I've just had a chat to our travel department manager, and she has said that the Futura Pro 36 would be a stretch as it is likely to be too long to carry on a plane.

Your best bet would be to contact the airline you are flying - as some are stricter than others. It may be best to get dimensions from them and then make a decision from there.
