Quite often a spray of insect repellant and a well-meaning mosquito coil isn’t going to stop the mozzies from making a snack out of you and your buddies when you’re on the road. Create a nice little-enclosed space with the Darche Mozzie Annex - because even someone with the patience of a saint can’t handle the sound of swatting and incessant insect buzzing all evening.
This annex is created to work with the Eclipse Awnings from Darche, so all you have to do is attach it the awning and you’ll be able to keep out any creepy crawlies that will otherwise disrupt your downtime. Darche has made this annex out of superfine PVC coated mesh so it’s super durable - plus its lightweight so it won't weigh you down.
Mosquito protection is a must-have when touring, especially in tropical areas of Australia so make sure you shield yourself with the Darche Mozzie Annex.
Does this darche mozzie annex fit the new eclipse slimline annex
G'day Tony,
Yes, based on the information we have from Darche they fit the new Slimline models too.
You said it’s not designed for the 270 awning but what about the 180 awning?
G'day Jacob,
The same issue is relevant for the 180 awning as they have the same design features. The Mozzie Annex won't attach to the 180 awnings, as it doesn't have suitable attachments, it has been designed to suit the 2.0 x 2.5m pull out awnings. If you're looking for something for a 180 awning, then the Eclipse Retreat has recently been released and suits the 180 and 270 awnings.
Is this 2m on the side attach to the car and extends 2.5m out? How is it attached to the awning on each side (e.g sail track on sides parallel to the car and straps on the sides perpedincular)?
G'day Rodney,
Yes, the 2m refers to the length of the awning in parallel with the vehicle, and then it extends 2.5m out from the vehicle. The attachments are a combination of zippers and velcro straps to suit the Darche Eclipse awnings.
Would like to fit to Rino Sunseeker
G'day Marion,
The Eclipse Awning Mozzie Annex is designed to fit most 2m and 2.5m wide awnings. We don't sell Rhino so we're not able to give it a whirl for you, but it should fit but may require some alterations depending on the sail track and attachment points on your awning.
.
G'day Daniel,
I've spoken to Darche who have measured one up for us, its standard height is 190cm and can go up to 2m at its maximum. Hope that helps!
Hey guys I've got an Aluminum canopy on my 4WD with the large fold up door. Do you know if I will still be able to access this with the annex attached or can I only open the rear passenger door. Cheers, Mike
G'day Michael,
It probably depends on where your awning is mounted along the length of your vehicle. If the awning is directly above the fold up door it might be difficult. You can unzip the vehicle side door in the same way as the open door in the image above so I'm thinking you'd need this point right above the door to make it work. If you can pop into our Keswick store sometime the staff would be happy to head into the carpark with you to have a look at your car and see if they can give you some more specific advice.
Hi can this annex be used in conjunction with the side and front walls extension for the awning or does the annex and extensions use the same tracks?
G'day Tom,
I've had a quick chat with Darche and they said that unfortunately, you can't use the Eclipse Awning Mozzie Annex and the walls at the same time.
Hello, Are you sure the packed dimensions are correct for this? The rest I have seen pack down to a large sleeping bag size. 57L x 30W x 16H cm are the dimensions listed.
G'day Jason,
We've been trying to put our hands on one of these to double check for you but haven't been able to locate it in the warehouse. As soon as they're found, we'll get this confirmed one way or the other.
G'day Jason,
Alright, I've finally been able to get one of the crew in our warehouse to measure one of these for me. The dimensions you've mentioned are spot on, but these are the measurements of the box it comes packaged in. I had a look at the bigger version in the shop here and the carry bag is quite a bit smaller than the box so I suspect you'll be able to pack these down smaller than the packaging they come in. Roughly, and this is only an educated guess, I'd say you'll be able to get it down to around 45x30x16. I hope this helps!
It seems to be .5m too long but if that means that the walls sag a little that wouldn’t be too big a problem. Would still keep the bugs out?
G'day Eric,
The Darche Eclipse Awning Mozzie Annex hasn't been designed to fit the 270 awnings. Theoretically, you could try and make it work by MacGyvering it but it's not intended to be used with these awnings. At this point in time, Darche
