I saw that it just first the 4P tent. Would it fit better in the 6P tent? Second question what size mattress would fit this best please?
G'day Rhonda,
You would have some more room in the 6P Northstar Tent so a couple of these stretchers would fit comfortably with some room.
Some suitable-sized mattresses for this stretcher include the Darche Supreme Snoozer 900, 900 Wide All Terrain, Zempire Monstamat King Single, Exped MegaMat 10 LXW & Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe Large.
The 900-wide mattresses will be the closest fit and the rest will sit fine on the stretcher.
Will it fit one of these?
G'day John,
If this Murchison River King Brown Swag measures about 2080mm x 900mm, this stretcher would be a great size for this swag!
Will this stretcher fit into an RV5? I'm looking at getting two so need them to fit lengthways
G'day Jonathon,
You should be able to fit 2 x Jumbo stretchers in here either way, they would be about the maximum length you could put in there but these will work.
Will 2 Oztrail jumbo easy fold stretchers fit in the Zempire Pro TM V2 airtent
G'day Gerrit,
Looking at the length of the OZtrail Jumbo Easy Fold stretchers they are about 2cm longer than the sleeping area in the Zempire Pro TM V2 Air Tent. We haven't tested these ourselves so couldn't say for sure but they might just squeeze in lengthways and could fit up to 3 side by side.
Some options we know will fit would be the OZtrail Single Stretcher or the Zempire Z Leg King Single Stretcher.
How resistant to tipping over, by a heavy person, is the stretcher when getting up from the side?
The frame designon these easy fold stretchers are about as steady as they come, Karen, there are a few brands with a similar frame deisgn that offer the same stability.
I have a Coleman Swagger 2 person and a exped self inflatable mattress which is 77cm wide.Is the oztrail easy fold single jumbo too high for the Swagger at 42cm? What is the alternative?
G'day Fred,
We've had a similar question on the actual Swagger tents, so I'll pop that answer below:
A stretcher will technically fit, however, it's not a massive tent, and I don't think it would be a functional option.
You'll have enough floor space, but its more so about overall size.
The maximum head height is 120cm, so if you have a stretcher & mattress combo with an average height of 50-55cm, that only gives you around 65-70cm above it, which isn't enough to sit up for most people.
If you are wanting to use a stretcher, the Oztrail Low Rise Stretcher may be a great option. It'll still get you off the ground, but will still allow you to maximise headroom.
We have the Wanderer Premium 4x4 Singles and considering adding stretchers to the mix. We usually bump all three side by side on the floor. The width of those is 76cm each. I assume the external dimensions on these stretchers include the poles? Would those mattresses fit this stretcher?
G'day Michael,
We don't sell Wanderer, I think it's a BCF home brand, so haven't tried this out.
Going off dimensions alone you'll be fine. The dimensions do include poles, but you've got about 15cm of excess room, so should clear them no worries.
Will this strecher fit inside the Coleman 4P Northstar tent? Or is it abit to long?
G'day Nathan,
It will fit, but only just. The ends may touch the inner wall of the tent but wont be putting pressure on them.
Hope that helps.
How well do two stretchers fit in the Colman North Star 10p?
G'day Jade,
You can fit them in the side rooms running front wall to back wall, but unfortunately due to the taper in these rooms they wont fit the other way. Ideally you would only have 1 in each of these end rooms, you could fit 2, but you'd have no room for anything else, including walking space.
Stretcher is 217 cm long, will it fit the tent given slightly sloping walls?
G'day David,
Yes, it will. The slop of the Pronto 4 walls is minimal, and at stretcher height, you don't lose much space at all.
Will this fit an OZtrail Ridgeback Discovery King Swag
G'day Sue,
The Ridgeback has been discontinued for some time so we can't physically try this out for you, however going off dimensions, it should be a perfect fit!
I'm wondering how to attach my swag to the stretcher? I have a Kings single delux swag.
G'day Lynn,
There isn't any one specific way to attach a swag to a stretcher. Generally, most people will just set up the swag on top of the stretcher, and then peg out the swags guy ropes. The other thing some people will do is use the swags rolling straps to secure the swag to the stretcher.
I would have to carry something like this on my roof rack. Is the bag storage waterproof?
G'day Neil,
No, the carry bag isn't waterproof. If you're needing it to be waterproof we'd recommend putting it inside a PVC roof carry bag/box.
I am about to purchase a monst Amat king single. Is this the best stretcher to purchase or should I stick with the armoire?
G'day Louise,
The Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher is a popular option for those looking to pair a self-inflating mattress with a stretcher. We have a range of stretchers available, but this model is one of the easiest to set up and is a good fit for the mattress. I'm not too sure about the armoire sorry, I thought an armoire was a wardrobe?
How would this stretcher pair with the Darche Air Volution 900 swag? Or would there be a better option? Thanks.
G'day Mike,
Yes the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher is a good stretcher to pair with the Darche Air-Volution AD900. The swag is almost the exact same size as the stretcher, so will fit well on top. Aside from this, the wider Darche XL100 Stretcher is also a popular option to pair with 900 width swags as it allows you to use the whole width of the swag without the sidebars getting in the way.
I have read the comments about the Oztent and if it fits length ways in the tent and touches the back of the canvas, will it cause condensation and become wet? Also what is the best mattress to fit on top?
G'day John,
Yes if you're using a stretcher with an Oztent and it touches the tent material at the back sloped section then the stretcher will likely allow water to seep through the fabric and will get wet. You can pop an Exped Megamat 10LXW, Zempire Monstamat, Zempire Bomberpad, or any other self-inflating mat in the single size on top that will provide insulation and padded comfort.
Will they fit length ways in our RV4, we are both 5ft 11, so need the length
G'day Michelle,
You can fit the Easy Fold Single Jumbo will just fit in the RV4, however, the length of the stretcher and the pitch of the rear of the tent will mean it will touch on the fabric at the back of the tent.
Hi, Will it fit in an Oztent RV3, without touching the sides of the tent? Cheers
G'day Andrew,
You can pop the Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher into an RV3 width ways, however lengthways the stretcher will be a little too long, and will touch the reach section of the canvas as it tapers down.
Will two of these fit comfortably in the Coleman Easy Up 6P Gold? And are they the best option for the Exped Megamat 10 LXW or Black Wolf Hexatherm 3D single? There are some conflicting responses on this site about whether the Exped will fit well on the Oztrail Easy Fold Single.
G'day Vanessa,
Yes, you should be able to fit two of these in the Coleman Instant Up 6P Gold tent. The Megamat 10LXW will fit on top of the jumbo stretcher well. You can use the Easy Fold Single Stretcher too, but you might get a little curve up on the edges of the mat as it curves up to the side bars.
Will it fit the rs1 swag on top of that?
G'day Justus,
The RS-1 is a little too large to fit on the Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher. We'd recommend grabbing the Oztent RS-1S King Single Stretcher for the best size match to go with the RS-1.
This stretcher still your recommendation for a Darche Dusk to Dawn 900 swag? I have an Oztent gecko stretcher but I think it's a bit short and narrow.
G'day Ross,
Yes, we're still pretty happy with the Easy Fold Single Jumbo Strehcer for 900mm wide swags. The Oztent stretchers tend to be a little small, but we have seen a few people going for the Oztent RS-1S Stretcher or Darche XL 100 Stretcher too.
And it seems the dimensions would be correct?
G'day Sanso,
Yes, this will work really well as it should sit within the frame of the stretcher and make for a really good nights sleep!
Will my Darche Dusk Till dawn 900 for on this? As the length is 215 and this is only 210?
G'day Andrew,
I reckon you'll run into trouble not getting enought support on the swag pole ends. Take a look at the Darche XL 100 Stretcher, or the Oztent RS-1S King Single Stretcher, they'll both meet your length and width requirements.
I purchased a Oztrail Mitchel Discovery swag, from you about 18 months ago, & now I think I want to get up off the ground, will this swag fit on this Stretcher?
G'day Daryl,
Yes - the Mitchell Discovery Swag will fit on this stretcher. Laine :)
I have an Oztrail tourer 9 tent (purchased from you) and was wondering if this jumbo stretcher would fit without touching the sides of the tent?
G'day Martyn,
It'll be awfully close but as long as you peg out the Oztrail Tourer 9 Tent well, you should be able to just squeeze your Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher inside.
Will two of these stretchers fit front-to-back in the RV5 OZTENT?
G'day Grace,
I've just been on the shop floor, trying to put one of the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretchers inside one of the Oztent RV5 Tents for you. I did manage to get it to go inside the end, although it was touching the end of the tent. This means that in dry weather you'll be absolutely fine but if it starts to rain then you'll probably end up getting the stretcher wet.
Could we join two of these stretchers together and put a double swag on top. I know I can buy a double stretcher however we need a higher maximum weight capacity than 200kg. Or do you have any single stretchers that are made so they can be attached together to create a double.
G'day Jenny,
I've had a look through our range, and it appears that we don't have any single stretchers in our range that are made to be attached.
We haven't tried this ourselves, so this may be ok but keep in mind that you would need to make sure that the weight was distributed evenly on both sides to correspond with the separate weight rating for each stretcher.
Each stretcher will still only have a maximum of 150kg, so if you shift during the night there may be a problem with stability and balance so I can't say it's something we would recommend.
Looking & comparing for wife & I on stretchers or matts. I am 100kg - she is a @ 64 Kg -seeking advice on selection between Easy Fold Jumbo Oztrail - Oztent King Goanna & Oztent Gecko? appreciate your opinion & tips - also tips for eaze o& quality of self inflating 4wd matts for couples or good quality air beds for same
G'day Gene,
If you’re after a durable hard wearing stretcher, the Gecko or the King Goanna would be your best bet.
The Gecko and the King Goanna as they are both slightly padded, wider than most stretchers (80cm) and are very sturdy so either is a good choice depending on the length you prefer (that’s the only difference between the two)
The Oztrail Easy Fold is going to be a little bit wider and has a gear loft and organiser – so it has a few more features - but I would say that the Oztent stretchers are a bit more comfy, and slightly better made which is why I would put them above the Easy Fold.
As for air beds, the Coleman Aerobed is a tried and tested customer favourite. If you’re interested in a mat to use on a stretcher or on the ground, one of the most comfortable one hands down is the Mega Deluxe (single or double) but if you’re after a budget option (that’s still comfy and easy to use) the Zempire Bomberpad (single or double size) is the way to go.Â
I know you don't stock it, but would the Dune Premium Jumbo self inflating mattress in king single go well on the jumbo oztrail easy stretcher?
G’day Kylie,
We’re not all that familiar with that range, but from looking at the specs of the Dune Premium Jumbo King Single, it's 195cm long and 90cm wide so it should fit well on top of the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo as it's 210cm long x 90cm wide.Â
Looking for a stretcher for my 7 yr old. He sleeps in a double bed at home so I was thinking a wider stretcher would suit him best. He is a restless sleeper and am concerned about him rolling out. How does the quality of the two stretchers compare ? Do you think the padding on the Oztent would be adequate or would you suggest a mat on top and if so what would you recommend. Finally, we are planning a 4 month trip from Sydney through the centre then onto the Kimberleys next year. This will be his bed on the camper floor for the duration. We will be going through the centre in Winter.
G'day Ian,
The Gecko is an excellent stretcher, but it can rock slightly so the Easy Fold would be the better option for a restless sleeper.
It’s always a good idea to add a mat for insulation, and in general for comfort (especially for a longer trip).
The Zempire Bomberpad or the Explore Planet Earth Sim Camper F60 are good options to use with a stretcher as both have non-slip dots on the bottom which helps to stop movement.
Another option would be to forget about a stretcher and go for a thicker self-inflating mat. This provides insulation for cold weather, and your son won't be able to fall off the bed.Â
As for thicker self-inflating mats, the Zempire Bomberpad is a great budget option, or if you wanted to go for a top of the line model – the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe and the Exped Megamat are the most comfortable mats in our range.Â
What is the maximum weight it will hold?
G'day Sam,Â
I've just double checked on the product itself, and the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher has as rated capacity of 150kg.Â
