Staff tip:It's best practice to season your swag a few times, even if it comes seam sealed, pre−seasoned, or waterproofed. For more info, check out our blog post below.
Hi Snowys, does this swag have loops on the inside so we can attach our clip on rechargeable fan? Yes we are soft! Thanks
Cheryl - East Kurrajong, NSW (5 months ago)
G'day Cheryl,
It doesn't have internal lantern loops specifically, but you could use a few of the mesh/door stow loops to suspend lighting options overnight when you don't have them rolled up. Hope that helps!

fly screen1 answer
is this fly screen midge proof like other brands? would it be suitable for far North qld?
ash - Brisbane, QLD(10 months ago)
G'day Ash,
The Dual Swags have a Superfine Mesh which will protect against most insects and mozzies although the only mesh we know to be midge-proof is the No-See-Um mesh. This would still be suitable although some tiny midges may sneak through.

Is the bag water and dust proof?1 answer
Given the packed size of the swag, I will likely be travelling with it on my roof. How would the bag hold up in a downpour while driving with it on the roof?
Sam - Rapid Creek, NT(1 year ago)
G'day Sam,
The 1400 Swag Bag is dustproof and the material is waterproof with an 800mm waterhead rating and polyurethane coating. The zippers aren't waterproof though, so you may get some water seep in through there in wet weather. We'd suggest using a roof rack bag or similar if it's likely to be quite wet. Although we haven't tried it ourselves, the Darche Nero 240 bag is the right dimensions to fit the 23 Zero 1400 Swag and could work as a dry bag.

Sag1 answer
Curious if the new elbow design makes any difference in regards to internal space and sag compared to the traditional dome shape?
Craig - Bulimba, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Craig,
Not a huge amount on the 1400 because of the extra size and weight of the canvas that the frame needs to support. The new elbows primarily make a difference with the tensioning of the poles generally, reducing and risk of stress points that historically would have caused them to fail. If you are wanting something more open and fully spaced internally, check out the Bandit - the central hoop offsets and canvas sag. Hope that helps!

Sleeping mat1 answer
Can the sleeping mat be removed from the swag?
Graham - Bowral, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Graham,
Yes, absolutely. Just like a traditional swag, it's a separate piece of foam mat. It comes packed separately from the swag from the factory (although in the same box), so you can choose not to use it at all if you have an alternative.

Bag sizes1 answer
Hi, I’ve just invested in the 23zero 1400. I’m stoked with the quality & features & know I’ll have this swag for years. While the bag is built strong, is there more than one size for the 23zero range? The bag supplied with my 1400 is much narrower than the mattress width, & is a struggle to squeeze in! My wife physically wouldn’t be able to pack it up!
Darren - Blyth, SA (2 years ago)
G'day Darren,
The 1400 Swag bag is the largest swag bag 23Zero do, and should be 150cm wide. The mattress itself is 140 wide, so the swag should fit in the bag without too much trouble. When the swags are fresh out of the box the canvas is very new and stiff. This should soften with time and use, and make pack up a lot easier. All of the other available swag bags from other brands are the same size as what you already have, so there's not a larger alternative within our range, sorry!

Easy of pack up1 answer
How much harder is it to pack up a 1400 swag over the 1100? Will be canping on my own with the kids so need something a single mum can pack away on her own
Kacey - Haywards Bay(3 years ago)
G'day Kacey,
The Dual Swag 1400 will be a little tricky to pack up if you're by yourself as the roll will be quite wide. If the kids are old enough to help, a second set of hands would be helpful to roll it up. The 1100 is a little easier and is just narrow enough for one person to be able to roll it up. I hope that helps.

Size of bag1 answer
Is the bag big enough to hold bedding as well?
Josh - 3219(4 years ago)
G'day Josh,
The bag is fairly spacious, so you can generally fit a sleeping bag inside the swag as well. Generally, pillows are a little too bulky to roll up inside the swag and fit it in the bag.

What’s the best way to get a replacement done polo for the 1400 ?1 answer
One pole snapped when swag was picked up to move it. First use ☹ï¸
Phil - Cromer(4 years ago)
G'day Phil,
Sorry to hear you've had some trouble with one of your poles. We don't sell model specific pole replacements, so the best bet will be to head over to the 23Zero website, they sell all of their pole replacements there.

Can this be put on a stretcher?1 answer
Hello, was wondering if this can be put on a stretcher and if so what would you recommend?
Teresa - Melbourne(4 years ago)
G'day Teresa,
You can pop a Dual Swag 1400mm on a stretcher, however, all of the double-width stretchers have a bar running down the centre, so you'll end up with two fairly distinct hollows on either side for each person. If that works for you, then the Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Stretcher and the Kamp-Rite Queen Kwik Cot are good options that will fit the width of this swag.

Extra small black tube inside?1 answer
Hi. We have just received our swag, great service. Inside the peg bag there is a small black "metal" tube. Does this have a purpose? Also was the swag supposed to come with instructions for care etc?
Catherine - Buderim(4 years ago)
G'day Catherine,
The small black tube is a temporary repair tube. If you experience an accidental field breakage, the tube can be slid over the break and taped in place to keep your swag in action until you can repair or replace the pole when you return home. 23Zero doesn't provide any instructions for their swag range, but as long as you make sure it is clean and dry before you roll it up and store it there isn't really anything else you need to know.

Rolling a sleeping bag inside it1 answer
I am wondering if you have any recommendations on a suitable sleeping bag of similar size that once rolled inside the swag will still fit in the supplied bag
Carl - Moonah(4 years ago)
G'day Carl,
It's hard to say with any certainty without trying all possible combinations, but one of the crew here rolls up the Darche Cold Mountain Sleeping Bag 1400 in their 1400 swag and it still fits inside the bag. That particular sleeping bag is quite hefty and warm, so I don't think you'll have any trouble with whatever sleeping bag you choose.

Weight1 answer
Is this really a 17kg swag? Where does this weight come from as the 1100 is close about 7kg lighter?
Mitch - 3810(4 years ago)
Hi Mitch,
I just did some research on this, and while we still do have one of these to physically weight for you, it looks like the specs on the 23Zero site have changed since we first uploaded this swag and the weight is more like 14.5Kg.
I'm going to update these specs accordingly, sorry for the confusion.

Does the dual swag 1400mm suffer from the sides sagging1 answer
Does the dual swag 1400mm suffer from the sides sagging
Justin - Melbourne(4 years ago)
The main swags I have heard of having bad side sagging is the Kings swags, Justin, of which I don't have any experience with. We have not had any negative feedback on the Dual swags in this respect though, so I'd be reasonably confident in saying that side sag on the Dual swag, if any at all, is much less of a problem
Ben - Snowys(4 years ago)
Where are these swags made1 answer
I'm trying to find out more on where this brand and where these swags are made? Does the 1400 suffer side sagging like a cheaper competitor does?
Justin - Melbourne(4 years ago)
G'day Justin,
23Zero are Australian owned and operated, they manufacture in China. The Dual Swag 1400 have a ridge spreader bar across the top and a fairly tight weave canvas which helps to reduce sag. Our product video for this swag shows what the swag will look like when it's set up if you need a reference to how the canvas will sit.

How does this stack up to the Darche Dusk to Dawn 1 answer
In terms of quality of construction/materials, warranties and any personal experience.
Ben - Brisbane (5 years ago)
G'day Ben,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Dual Swag 1400mm by 23Zero is a fairly similar design to the Darche Dusk to Dawn series. The canvas on the 23Zero is a little lighter weight but it does have a slightly thicker mattress, so overall we'd say they're pretty comparable and both great options!

How does this model compare to the Bandit model by 23Zero?1 answer
How does this model compare to the Bandit model by 23Zero?
Jon Walter - Bracken Ridge(5 years ago)
G'day Jon,
In terms of quality and materials, the Bandit and the Dual are on par with each other as they're made from the same canvas and feature the same mattress. The main differences are just the design of the swag, and the weight.
The Dual has a simpler design - it features two end poles with 2 entry points and weighs 9.6kg, whereas the Bandit has a three pole design with four entry points, has nearly vertical walls for more interior space and weighs significantly more at 19kg. I hope this was helpful Jon.
