The Coleman CPX6 1000 Lumen Lantern stands up proudly when compared to any fuelled lantern.
While rivalling the output of a gas or fuel lantern, the CPX6 1000 Lumen Lantern retains the convenience of battery power. The Intermatrix Remote Phosphor Technology reduces the glare of traditional USB lanterns, and provides a soft warm light.
Powered by 4D cell batteries (sold separately), the CPX6 1000 Lumen lantern is also compatible with the optional CPX6 Rechargeable battery Pack. Complete with four lighting modes, a carry handle and a water resistant casing, the Coleman CPX6 1000 Lumen Lantern will cater for all your campsite lighting needs.
Really good value for money light.
Throws out a lot of light and will last a while on a set of batteries. I bought some good quality rechargeables as the Coleman rechargeable doesn't last too long but is ok as a backup
Took it camping at Deep Creek for a long weekend and it gave great light on the lowest setting. Used the Coleman rechargeable battery and it lasted the whole weekend. The children loved it, it's light, easy to carry and well made.
It's a good light and quite bright and we got a fair run out of a set of alkaline batteries. If you get one of these go grab a set of 5000M/ah rechargeables as the Coleman rechargeable battery doesn't last long at all and was pretty flat after only a short time (2hrs on mid/low setting) after an initial 16 Hr charge.
Thanks for the tip Phil! Laine :)
Throws out a lot of light even on the lower setting. Full setting illuminates a really large area enough for old blokes like me to see clearly
This is powerful light for a small area. It gives a nice white light and is well built. The battery life is pretty much as stated (depends on the battery quality of course!). The warranty suggests a quality product all round. Much better value overall than some cheaper options.
Lamp works reasonably well but rechargeable battery is a disaster,
Less than 2 hours on full power after 5 days charging!
We are sorry you have had a bad experience with this lantern Doug. It sounds like the problem lies with your battery, especially if it is new. Please give us a call on 1300 914 007 at your convenience, we would like to sort this out for you.
Really happy with this product
Used it for a week up on Fraser Island as our main camp light on the lowest setting and it was perfect one set of batteries too which was a big surprize, plus while on the lowest setting it didn't attract the insects which was a massive plus!!
i'm hoping to see a comparison with the Seige lantern. My preference is to find a dynamo lantern ...
We don't carry the Streamlight line, and from speaking to the floor staff I can't find anyone here who is familiar with the Siege lantern range. As for the Coleman CPX6, this lantern does have a flashing mode, but it doesn't offer a red light option.
I've had a look through our range and none of our lighting products are dynamo powered, but we do stock rechargeable lanterns which aren't the same, but they still eliminate the need to use disposable batteries.
There aren't any lantern in our range that have a red light, but we do sell a spotlight called the AT Tech Spotlight from Life+Gear which features a red light option which is probably your best bet.
Hi there Phil, the Coleman Lumen Lantern has four settings- low, medium, high and strobe. The low setting may be suitable for you, but as it’s not specifically for keeping on at night you may want to take that into consideration as it may be too bright.
