The classic envelope style Cooper Expedition Swag from OZtrail is as easy as it gets when it comes to sleeping out in the elements.
There’s actually no set up required – you just roll it out, and you’re all set to snooze. The Cooper is made from tough 230gsm ripstop canvas to provide protection from the elements. The head awning will provide extra shelter, and the full length and foot zip allow you to adjust the environment. You’ll sleep in comfort on the 5cm high-density open cell foam mattress, and when you’re ready to head out, the webbing roll straps with double D rings make packing up easy.
Make organising your shelter every night a breeze, with the simple and enduring Cooper Expedition Single Swag from OZtrail.

Hello, I’m looking for a bit of extra warmth for the kids during our first winter camp and read that swags (inside the tent) might be a good option. With space at a premium, are these a good, compact, no frills option? How do they compare to a biker swag like the oztent?
G'day Caitlin,
The Cooper swags are an easy unroll and off-ya-go swag! You would just have the canvas lying on top when you sleep which would trap an extra layer of warmth in the cold weather. The Cooper swag is a good compact size, the Biker swag is more compact although it does have the dome poles which would require setting them up and pegging them out to stay upright.
Does your head stick out in the open or is there a mesh barrier?
This is a pretty simple swag, Cameron, there is no mesh panel to keep the bugs out.
The specs say it has a PVC bucket floor but the picture doesn't look like it. Does it have a PVC floor ? I want one with a canvas floor. Thanks, Kat.
It has a PVC floor, Kat, but it's not a bucket i.e. it is sewn at the corner rather than up the side, I've fixed this on our website. Apologies for the confusion.
Will the Blackwood hexatherm 3d single self-inflatable mattress fit in this?
G'day Shaun,
The mattress is 1cm wider than the swag, but I don't believe you'll have any issues.
It's an incredibly comfortable mat, so it will serve you well in the swag!
Have an oversize Kamp Rite, needs another mattress, thinking of putting this inside as is ( or just the mattress ) Covid mad or a reasonable idea.
G'day Drew,
The Cooper Expedition Single Swag will be a bit of overkill for what you need, not crazy, but just overkill! We'd recommend grabbing the Oztrail Camp Mat Jumbo instead, it will give you a similar size mattress, without the extra canvas material.
Is there a thing with the swag such as a mozzie net over where your head sits to stop bugs or snakes going in
G'day Sailor,
This is the most basic 'original' style swag we sell, they don't have a closable head end or any mesh, so you could get some mosquito bites or things that slither in your swag. If you're looking for a swag that closes and has built-in mosquito mesh, the Mitchell Expedition Single, and Dual Swag 900 are both popular options with these features.
Is the 5cm open cell mattress fixed inside or loose? So could I remove the supplied mattress and put in a self-inflating mattress each time I set up the swag? Or put the swag on a camp bed with no mattress?
G'day Doug,
This mattress is completely removable, which means you can replace it with a Self Inflating one or whatever configuration will suit your setup!
Looking to order two but would like different colours if possible. Doesn't have to be pink and purple, tan and green would be fine.
G"day Frank,
The Oztrail Cooper Expedition Single Swag is only manufactured in the traditional swag green. If you're after a swag that comes in a few colours the Oztrail Mitchell Discovery KS Swag comes in a few colour options.
Can you send a picture of the inside?
G'day Anonymous,
