After reading reviews one says that's the label says not to season? Should I season it?
G'day Hayley,
We generally recommend seasoning any canvas product, however, based on the information Wendy provided the label may have indicated otherwise. We'd suggest following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
dear snowys, thx fast and efficient delivery of my new bluey. i'm pleased i took your advice on quality, because the components are good. anyway my question is: how is the guy rope designed to be attached to the foot of the swag? at the head there' a eyelet, but not at the foot. there's the two guy ropes and two pegs. i'm pretty sure the short rope attaches to the head, and the long one to the foot. i thought it might be supposed to loop under pole, but there's only one peg and only one tensioner on the rope. i'm right to make it work, but i'm curious about how its designed to be attached.
G'day Adam,
I wasn't entirely sure, so I gave our supplier a buzz. They sent me to this video on YouTube. It's not a True Blue Bluey Bigfoot Dome Swag in the video but the foot end guy rope is the same.
I got one of these swags but my current stretcher (210 x 80) is a little narrow for it. The length is ok since I don't use the middle and feet poles. Cheers
G'day Reggie,
From looking at the dimensions it would seem your best bet would be the Outdoor Connection Sundowner Titan Stretcher, as the Bluey Bigfoot is 216L x 90W cm and the Sundowner is 218L x 102W.
What makes the Oztrail Mitchell Expedition swag so much more expensive than this one? On paper this seems like the better option with value for money.
G’day Harrison,
The Oztrail Mitchell Expedition and the True Blue Bluey Bigfoot Swag are currently priced the same, perhaps you meant to write the Mitchell King Single Swag?Â
If that’s the case, the True Blue Bluey Bigfoot has a lifetime pole warranty, is lighter, and the canvas will be slightly higher quality so it will wear better over time - so it very well may have the edge over the Mitchell King Single.
The Mitchell King Single is from a bigger brand, so I suppose perhaps True Blue has priced their Bluey Bigfoot to be more competitive. We’re not too sure on this, we just try and deliver the best price to our customers off of the retail price. Either swag is a solid choice, but I would say it does seem the Bluey is better value for money.Â
Just wondering if the swag is entirely made in Australia
G'day Sam,Â
I've just had a look at the Manufacturer's information, and i've found that this swag's fibreglass poles and foam (Dunlop) are made in Australia, and the swag is also assembled in South Australia.Â
The only part of the swag made overseas is the canvas, which is made in India or Pakistan as that is where the highest quality canvas comes from.Â
Hi Wendy, I’ve just had a look for you myself and the True Blue Bluey Bigfoot Dome Swag has a base that is made from waterproof canvas.
