With a little extra space than a standard swag, the Darche AWOL 1100 swag is just right for every person and their dog. The extra width makes for a very tight double swag or just enough space for an individual with some luggage or a sheltered space for your trusty canine pal to rest for the night.
Made from Darche’s signature rot proof and ripstop canvas, it’ll weather all kinds of conditions so that you won’t have to, and it’ll give you that extra space inside to move around. You won’t miss out on that view of the southern skies, as this swag has a full mesh top that’ll give you that stellar view and will keep condensation at bay.
There’s nothing worse than feeling constricted and suffocated inside your swag. That’s why Darche have added an alternative entry at the top of the swag to keep a steady flow of air going inside your shelter.
The three-hoop structure will keep the swag away from your body – giving you that extra breathing room for a more spacious and liveable interior. For a solid night’s sleep under the stars, you can’t go past the Darche AWOL.
The Maximum head height is 80cm, so externally the swag will sit approximately 90cm off the ground.

Opening1 answer
Does it have an opening on both ends of the swag?
Shawn - Wamberal(4 years ago)
G'day Shawn,
I've just double-checked our display model and I can confirm that there are openings at both the head and foot end of the AWOL 1100.

Does this come in a bag please?1 answer
Or do you have to purchase separately?
Paul - Fremantle(5 years ago)
G'day Paul,
The Urban AWOL 1100 Swag doesn't come with a bag but we do sell a bag that will suit. The Darche Outbound 1100 Swag bag will be a great option.

Mattress and alternative entry 1 answer
Just checking on the thickness and quality of mattress in this swag? I notice other Darche models are 5cm. Seems a bit thin for extended trips.
Also, is the alternative entry at the head just s canvas flap or does it have fly screen too?
Dom - Kalgoorlie(5 years ago)
G'day Dom,
The Darche Urban AWOL swags come with a 5cm thick mattress. It's probably ok for most people but that'll really come down to the individual. We have a great range of self-inflating aftermarket mats you could chuck in there if you really wanted to boost the warmth and comfort. The alternate entry at the head of the swag does have both a fly mesh and canvas flaps.

What stretcher will this fit on? 1 answer
Just wondering if the XL 100 is to small?
Teresa - Malmsbury (5 years ago)
G'day Teresa,
This will fit on the Darche XL100 really nicely. In fact, it should fit on most stretchers with a width of 100cm. The poles will hang over the edge a little but I've tried this out with a few Darche swags and they sit on it really well.

How water proof is this swag? 1 answer
How waster proof is the swag?
Have you seen any bad reviews about this swag?
Is it a good entry level swag?
Dylan - Margate Tasmania(5 years ago)
G'day Dylan,
The Darche Urban AWOL 1100 Swag is made from a proofed canvas so it should keep you dry in all but the worst weather conditions. It's a great swag with loads of width and a decent amount of headroom and I can honestly say I've not read any bad reviews. A great option with a pretty reasonable price tag for the features you're getting.

Is there a full zip on the flyscreen for this product?1 answer
It indicates there is a full length zip for the cover but just wanted to check on the screen as well. I have a different swag that only zips to halfway and it is a pain to make the bed
Nic - Kandos(5 years ago)
G'day Nic,
I could only double check this on an AWOL 900 as we don't have an AWOL 1100 on display right now, but I would presume the features are the same. Both the flyscreen and cover can be zipped right back on both sides so it should be much easier to get in there than your current swag.
