Would this bag be overkill for zero degree temp if a cold sleeper?
G'day Dane,
You wouldn't likely overheat in this bag, however you could also consider -5 or -10 rated bags instead. It is also worth noting that, as you are the only source of heat in your sleeping bag, you should make sure you are getting into it already warm. I would also recommend having something hot to eat or drink right before bed, and maybe keep some high-fat snacks nearby to munch on throughout the night if you wake up cold. You could also use a silk sleeping liner and warm socks, but try to keep the actual clothes on your body to a minimum as these negate the insulating effects of the sleeping bag. You should also make sure that you are sleeping on a good insulating mattress/sleeping pad, as otherwise a lot of your body heat could be being lost to the ground. A smaller bag will also be warmer- this one is quite large, with a rectangular shape at 1.1 m wide.
Hope that helps! :)
